My first love was entrepreneurship. I’m not kidding- I remember being 6 years old, painting dance stick wands and icing cupcakes to sell at my Dad’s office. My parents had encouraged it- drove me to the store, helped set up the paint, lent me money and walked me through how profit margins work (although I couldn’t understand why my mom was taking back some of the new money I’d just made, so perhaps I didn’t really get that part).

When I was slightly older, I set up “market stalls” in my kitchen. We lived on a pretty quiet street, so instead I’d sell to my family- hand drawn bookmarks for 50c, joke books, origami. I’d set up a little table with a red-and-white checker cloth, and announce that I was open for business. I’d close at the end of the day with a solid couple of fresh dollars in my pocket.

I eventually graduated to more ‘real’ businesses when I moved into middle and high school. At 12, I took up photography. At 14, I was named the global “Travel Photographer of the Year” (for the 14 & under category). I took that award and bought new equipment- started selling stock photos online and doing portrait sessions for local events and business owners in the area. When I was 15, I had the highest number of A*s in my IGCSES at school; the next year I turned that into a 3-hour study course and made about €1200 (I was pretty happy with that one). I discovered marketing, consumer psychology, and brand building, and started reading and listening to everything I could about it. The summer of 10th grade I worked 3 internships in marketing roles across luxury hospitality and luxury events. When I was 16, I fell in love with creating podcasts and launched ‘The Seen’ (which I still host now). Since then, I’ve had guests I used to only dream of- the founder of Pictionary, founder of the #1 app in the world, #4 most followed person on LinkedIn, the former head of GTM at OpenAI. About 9 months into hosting it, it got one of its first features- a clip in the middle of a summit hosted by Tony Robbins, Dean Graziosi, and Igor Pogany. As someone who grew up hearing about the magic of Tony Robbins’ summits from their parents, that was a pretty proud moment. Then at 17, I discovered LinkedIn and started posting every day, eventually leveraging that up to paid brand deals and partnerships. From that, I started working in startups- head of GTM, CMO, ghostwriting, you name it.

Outside of business, I’ve spent a lot of my life travelling. I grew up in Australia (6 years in Perth, 7 years in Sydney), and then spent my high school years in Portugal. Now I live in Scotland, where I study at the University of St Andrews.

That’s the resume version of me at least. The real version is that I’ve never really stopped setting up that table. Just, over time, that red-and-white checker cloth became a laptop screen, a stage, a recording desk. Whatever it needed to be to achieve the true core of what it is I love about business- the magic of creating something from nothing.
