stop putting links in the comments
everyone thinks that it boosts your reach
but it actually hurts it
now just like most people, i've always been told that putting links in the body of your post will kill your reach
and the reasoning most people give is that linkedin doesn't want you to leave the site, so they don't want people clicking on links (which does make sense)
... except for the fact that i haven't seen it to be true at all
here's the proof i'm basing it off though-
2 days ago i put up a post with the link to a google form embedded right at the bottom
and despite that, it still got over 10k impressions, 141 reactions, and 62 comments
(which just to benchmark for me, means it's not a viral breakout post, but that it did pretty good)
plus we now have about 60 responses on the form- which was the whole reason for the post
and there's one big issue that putting a link in the comments causes (that isn't even about the algorithm, but just natural human nature)-
people just don't want to search through the comments for your link
so taking away as much friction as you can from them thinking about clicking on the link, to actually doing it, will help you so much
and again, i definitely am not claiming to know exactly what the algorithm likes (in fact, i think it quite hates me right now because my post yesterday got sooo shadow-banned)
but, this is just what i've seen to be true
so i say bring back the links in posts!!
