today i finally beat my dad Laurence Tham

on linkedin

because i finally have more followers than him!! which means i've officially won this race between us (that he didn't even know he was competing in)

when i first made this account, he was one of the only people i had to compare myself to

i remember looking at his analytics and just thinking that there was no way i could ever do the same, at least not for a good few years

and yet... here we are

and now i know that followers are just a number. but it's also a number that reminds me of how far it's possible to come

that the numbers that once felt like ceilings will eventually become benchmarks.
