i've turned linkedin into a game (that i'm addicted to)

here's how it works:

1. i post once a day. every day. (usually at night)

2. i don't check my post

3. i wake up in the morning and see how the post did (little adrenaline and dopamine hit there)

4. comment throughout the day (mostly during my gym sesh)

5. respond to all my comments from yesterday's post

6. repeat the cycle

and it is the most addictive thing ever because posting starts to feel like buying lottery tickets

and you get to wake up each morning to see how much your life changed

(because the thing about this that's different from lottery tickets is that you always win)

yes, it's to varying amounts, but there's always SOMETHING to see

and the best part is that you'll start playing against yourself. fighting for the next level. trying to break your engagement record or impression numbers or follower count

and so every day you start to get better, start levelling up. until eventually? you're unrecognisable

and the best part is that the only true way to lose this game is just by not playing at all
